LBDS hires new Technical Service Manager (Raquel Rodriguez)

raquel rodriquez picLBDS is very happy to announce that Raquel Rodriguez has joined Lallemand Biofuels & Distilled Spirits to fill the position of Technical Service Manager (C5 specialist). In this role she will provide technical support for our ‘corn to ethanol’ North American customers and also provide support to our customers that are engaged in cellulosic fuel ethanol projects around the world.

Raquel graduated from Leon University in Spain with a BSc in Biology. Her last work experience was in at the Abengoa cellulosic-ethanol production plant in Kansas, where she provided technological support with a focus on the cellulosic processes scale-up and optimization. Her duties involved process monitoring, analyzing key data and solving scale-up issues. Previously Raquel had worked as a Research Technician in Spain performing fermentations for cellulosic enzymes production and C5 yeast propagations for 2G ethanol production at lab-scale.

Raquel received her MSc degree in Food Biotechnology from the University of Oviedo (Spain) in 2008 and she is in the process of finishing her PhD dissertation in cellulosic enzyme production.

She enjoys horseback riding, traveling and learning different cultures and spending time with her family and friends.
