International Training on Ethanol Technology in Pakistan Review

International Training on Ethanol Technology was conducted at Pearl Continental Hotel, Bhurban, Pakistan in association with Hunza Group of Companies (channel partner of LBDS for Pakistan market) on June 19, 2021. Approximately 45 delegates from Pakistan ethanol industry and academia attended the one-day training program. The LBDS team joined this training virtually.

Training was designed especially for molasses-based ethanol producers to cover a wide range of important topics relevant to the industry. Technical sessions from LBDS experts covered Molasses Fermentation Basics, Cleaning & Sanitation of an Ethanol Plant, Nutrition in Molasses Fermentation, Case Studies on Molasses Fermentation and Scotch Malt Whiskey Production, which were highly appreciated by audience. Speakers from academia covered topics such as Biorefinery & Pakistan and Future of Ethanol Technology: Challenges & Opportunities. Ethanol industry experts from Pakistan talked about Export of Ethanol from Pakistan, Areas of Improvement for Ethanol Manufacturers and Effect on Fermentation Efficiency When Hard Water is Used in Fermentation.

This is first time such an event is organized in Pakistan ethanol industry. This training was a good opportunity for ethanol producers to lean and network with industry colleagues. It was also discussed to reduce the gap in industrial and academic sectors in Pakistan to support the ethanol industry.

Based on the participation and feedback of the delegates, this international training was a resounding success, and we will be planning a similar training next year.
